The Mercedes CLS Class is an unsurprisingly desirable car, offering coupe performance and styling, with the convenience and practicality of a saloon.

Exceptional performance and handling

There are diesel, petrol and turbocharged petrol engines to choose from throughout the class, each providing responsive performance on request. On standard models, there are three suspension options, whilst for those requiring greater firmness and feeling a bit sporty, the Sport option is ideal.

Though comfortable throughout the range, the air suspension provides this best, whilst with the AMG option, even greater performance can be achieved. With steering that is light for parking and responsive at speed, and the smooth 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox, the ride is always enjoyable.

Fully kitted out

The materials and finish in the cabin are everything a prestige saloon should offer, notably the stainless steel dash fittings, but the lower seating position is all coupe. There is room enough to sit four comfortably, whilst the boot is generous to say the least, along with thoughtful storage throughout.

Across the range, the CLS offer a Harman Kardon DAB digital radio, Sat Nav, Bluetooth, climate control, and more. All are accessible through an easy to use onscreen control, whilst options allow this to be enhanced further if desired.

Safety in mind

There are an impressive nine airbags in every CLS, whilst the stability control helps keep things on the road. Leading innovators as ever, Mercedes has also introduced their driver fatigue, Active Lane-Keeping Assist, and blind spot warning systems.

The CLS Class is a car which pitches itself in two ranges, and delivers on both with gusto. Giving its driver confidence in any situation, it is enjoyably capable and challenging.
